| ETA (Visitor) (subclass 976) |
 |
An ETA (Visitor) subclass 976 is designed for people who are outside Australia and want to visit Australia for holidays, tourism, recreation, and informal studies or training.
An Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) is an Electronic Visa linked to your passport number, allowing you to travel to Australia. There is no stamp or label in your passport, and there is no need to visit an Australian diplomatic office to submit an application. If you hold a passport from an ETA-Eligible country, you can apply online quickly and securely.
An Electronic Travel Authority is valid for 1 year, and you can enter Australia for up to 3 months per visit with a valid ETA.
Your ETA will be automatically linked to your passport number when you check-in at the airport and when you pass through Australian Immigration.
If you wish to travel to Australia for tourism or business, you will need a valid entry permit such as an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA), or a short travel Visa. Passport holders from ETA eligible countries can use this website to obtain an ETA directly from the Australian Government System, along with our Short Travel Guide to Australia.
Passport holders from non-ETA eligible countries can obtain the Short Travel Visa Application Guide and Short Travel Guide to Australia and start the Visa application process.
