The Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) is for employers in regional Australia, tofill skilled positions they are unable tofill from the local labor market.
Under the RSMS, employers are able tonominate staff from overseas or temporary residents currently in Australia tofill full-time, permanent vacancies.
The employees applying for a visa can be either skilled worker from overseas or skilled temporary residents
Australian employers in regional or low population growth areas of Australia can participate in this scheme. All areas of Australia are eligible except Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong, Melbourne and Perth.
