The Vocational Education and Training Student Visa is designed for students who intend toundertake a certificate I-IV (except ELICOS), diploma, advanced diploma, vocational graduate certificate or a vocational graduate diploma.
Australia's Vocational Education and Training (VET) system provides training tostudents, that is both practical, and career-oriented. Students can develop their own career path through a mix of study and practical work.
toqualify for a Vocational Education and Training Visa, you must be able tosatisfy the basic Visa requirements. The basic Visa criteria are that you are enrolled in a registered course, you have adequate English language ability, you have the financial means tosupport yourself and you have appropriate overseas student health insurance cover during your stay in Australia.
As the holder of a Student Visa, you have the right tolive and study in Australia. In some circumstances, you may be allowed toapply for permission towork up to20 hours a week part time during term periods and full time in the vacation periods.
Graduate level students may also be entitled toapply for a permanent residence Visa in some circumstances.
